Google +1 and SEO

I’ve just finished implementing my Google +1 button on my website. You should see it at the top of this page in the header. I’m excited to track the SEO implications of this new tool / resource to see exactly how it plays out.

Aptly put on Google’s +1 homepage, ‘The +1 button is shorthand for “this is pretty cool” or “you should check this out.”‘

Going a bit further, it’s defined as: Click +1 to publicly give something your stamp of approval. Your +1′s can help friends, contacts, and others on the web find the best stuff when they search.

Essentially, when you +1 something you’re placing a little sticky note on it so that whenever any of your friends happen upon the link or website, it will say “John Smith +1′d this”. I’m going to track this to see if it has any impact on my overall positioning in the SERPs (search engine results pages).

Feel free to click the little +1 at the top there also. If you found this helpful, of course.

I lack the skill to write like this, but i haven’t had any issues in the past. May i repost this for my own readers?

Casey: If you do decide to repost my content, please include a link back to the original source on this website. Regarding your skill: just practice. Remember, you’re not defeated until YOU decide you’re defeated.
